Golf in La Cala de Mijas
Few places on the Costa del Sol are better set up for golf. At the heart of it is La Cala Resort — the largest golf resort in Spain — with three 18-hole championship courses (Campo América, Campo Asia and Campo Europa, all designed by Cabell B. Robinson), plus a par-3 course, a golf academy and its own hotel and spa. A few minutes inland, Calanova Golf offers an 18-hole course (a Manuel Piñero design) within its own resort, and La Noria Golf, a friendly 9-hole par-33 right in La Cala, is ideal for a quick round or newer players. Within a short drive you’ll also reach Mijas Golf (two courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos), Santana Golf and El Chaparral.
For buyers, that density is the point: you can live golf-front with the first tee at the end of the garden, or simply near several courses without tying yourself to one. Homes beside the fairways tend to hold their value and rent strongly to visiting golfers right through the year, which makes them as sound an investment as they are a lifestyle choice.
