Calahonda location & getting around
Location is central to Calahonda’s appeal — literally. It sits midway between Marbella and Fuengirola, so you’re never far from either: under 20 minutes to Marbella (with buses running roughly every half hour), and a similar hop to Fuengirola, its train and its shopping. Málaga airport is about 39km / 35 minutes away, and the A-7 coastal motorway runs right along the top of the urbanisation (with the AP-7 toll road as the fast option in season), so getting on and off the coast is simple.
Within Calahonda a car is handy given the size and the hills, but the commercial centres, beach and restaurants are close to most homes. That combination — central on the coast, quick to the airport, everything reachable — is a big part of why the area holds such steady year-round and holiday demand.
